Otamure and DoC Camp Ground

Pohutukawa Grove

Lapped by the Pacific ..by.. Malcolm Pullman
Crimson Coast ... by ... Malcolm Pullman

This ocean beach faces north and is about 300 metres wide.  A stream enters the bay at its western end and a sandy driveway runs close to the shore.  A grove of tall pohutukawa near the middle of the beach offers shade and a children's play area.

Between Rockells Road and the shoreline, the Department of Conservation has developed a basic camp ground with the necessary toilets and water supply.
