Our main
aim is to support your quality of life and to recognise the dignity of

History
In 1925, a voluntary organisation
was formed to give support to rural women - The Women's Division of
Federated Farmers. The life of the 1920's farmer's wife was both
backbreaking and isolated. For women living in the back blocks, across
unbridged rivers and at the end of winding mud tracks life was even
harder. From these dire conditions emerged the WDFF Emergency Housekeeper
Scheme. Today weare known as Careplus.
In the early 1990's the
government recognised that people with disabilities, the frail elderly and those
recuperating after illness and injury recovered quicker and their quality of
life was enhanced if they were able to be supported and cared for in their own
home environment. Health funding was channelled through chosen service
providers such as Careplus to provide home based health services in the
community.
Careplus is still non-profit
but not voluntary. We are the largest provider of specialised home care
services in Northland and employ a workforce of over 300.
